STOWA is the knowledge centre for regional water managers in the Netherlands, mainly for the water boards. STOWA organised an innovation competition in 2021. This was about the combination of TEO (energy recovery from surface water) and combating eutrophication.

Chiel van de Voorde, then an intern at the Brabantse Delta Water Board, brought in the Nutreact technology with our support. This led to a shared first place.
STOWA and Wageningen University looked into this in more detail and produced a voluminous report. In comparison with the other two participants, Nutreact comes out of the study very well. You can view this report as a pdf via the button below.
